MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Desalination

This MSc programme aims to broaden and/or deepen the student's knowledge of certain mechanical engineering disciplines, which have largely been chosen on the basis of the research strengths of the Department, and which complement and support a specialisation in the study of Desalination. To this end more than half of the credit total of the programme is devoted to the study of Desalination. This includes a Desalination project that aligns with the Department's expertise in this area. The programme also places a strong emphasis on the central role that design takes in both innovation and in the integration of the engineering disciplines.

The course is split into two semesters and a summer session, which account for 60 credits each. Within the first two semesters compulsory desalination and design engineering courses are supplemented by a number of mechanical engineering options as shown in the table below. The summer session is devoted to a desalination project.
